ABOUT US

GoodCorporation is a for-profit company owned by a group of private individuals interested in responsible business management. It was founded in 2000 by a group of former partners and directors of KPMG Consulting. GoodCorporation carries out independent assessments for clients of how well they implement in reality their principles of responsible business management. GoodCorporation assesses companies either against the GoodCorporation Standard or against a company’s own statement of business principles.

GoodCorporation is not a consultancy, and therefore does not gain anything by identifying weaknesses in a client’s business practices, other than helping the client to focus effort into areas where risks are present. By not providing consultancy services, we remove the risk of any conflict of interest, and allow the client to receive a genuinely impartial view of how the business is operating and where it needs to improve.

GoodCorporation is headquartered in London, UK, but has a network of local partners across the world. The GoodCorporation Standard and methodology can be applied to any location wordwide. To date, GoodCorporation has conducted assessments in over 30 countries. The assessment team always comprises expert GoodCorporation assessors and a trained local partner, who can advise on cultural differences and local context.

Most of our clients are working towards GoodCorporation membership, but a number of companies use our customised independent assessment process as part of a risk management or assurance process, as a check on the successful implementation of the company’s own business principles, or as part of on-going organisation development.

GoodCorporation gives 5% of its profits to good causes, and is supported by representatives of trade unions and not-for-profit organisations, as well as large and small businesses.

GoodCorporation is advised by a high level advisory panel. The founding chair was Lord Sharman, the former global head of KPMG and now chairman of Aviva plc.
