STANDARD REVISIONS
NEW STANDARD LAUNCHED
In order to ensure that the Standard stays up-to-date, it was agreed with by the Institute of Business Ethics that the Standard undergoes a triennial review. Reviews were conducted in 2004 and 2007.
The first stage of the review involved collecting feedback from the Institute of Business Ethics, the GoodCorporation Advisory Panel, the Accreditation Council and the GoodCorporation assessors on the principles and practices that make up the current standard. The next step was to open the document up for consultation.
Based on the feedback we received, we launched the latest 2007 standard at a House of Lords Lunch Debate on Corporate Responsibility.
Commenting on the launch of the revised Standard, Lord Hastings said “I welcome the update of the GoodCorporation Standard. It is a rigorous assessment of corporate responsibility and one that would benefit business of all sizes. In today’s business world, it is essential that companies commit to a serious examination of their own business practice and avoid a PR-led approach to corporate responsibility. A failure to do so can have lasting consequences.”
